The activity today was to analyse the words employers use in job advertisements; to try and get an understanding of what they mean and, then, how to evidence that in either job application/CV or at interview.
A study of more than 500,000 recent job advertisements by the search company Adzuna, for The Guardian newspaper, revealed that the top 10 most commonly used words were:
- Communication Skills
- Motivation
- Passion
- Organised
- Qualified
- Degree
- Track record
- Flexible
- Innovative
- Commitment
The students analysed the words in small groups and then compared notes, now they are thinking about how to capture this exercise in a Xerte resource.
